well got to the fort at 640 the wind was up but not bad, but it was a cold one, the swell wasnt bad, 3-4 at 6-8 secs with a few 5-6ers thrown in every few minutes, the drift was going southwest today and pretty slow, 1.4mph on gps. overall fishing was slow, all i can say is i cant buy a legal ling, caught 4 largest being 22 in, also boated two small gophers. pulled out at 1145 to head home and get some chores done so the wife wont yell when i creep out of the house again tommorow morning. cameron

Thanks for the report. Good try and that's what counts--no matter what the outcome--it is 100 percent certain you are sure not to catch anything if your kayak and line are not in the water. You cannot win the lottery without buying a ticket.

Nice launch & landing pics. You must be stoked to have that spot close by.
I've had those same underling days. Sometimes its only the juniors that are stirred up.

Looks like you had a nice day regardless of Mr. Ling no show. You'll get some
monster ling soon enough Cameron.

Any bait out there? I'm tempted to go to Ft Ross, but the mackerel at Tomales are calling me.

Its a fine line, isn't it?  :smt003  Keep at it and the legal ling will become reality!

My wife loves broiled Mackerel--she always orders it every time we go to a Sushi Restaurant. I am under standing orders to bring home Mackerel, Sardines, and Anchovies as the minimum regardless if I bring home Halibut, Ling, Striper, Cabezon, or Rockfish. I guess that's the WAF overhead and it;s no problem as they are easier to catch than gamefish.
