Single or treble on the iron? Any opinions? I am leaning towards single, but will I get a good set on a hardmouth YT with the single hook on lighter gear?

For me it's a single stinger hook.

I think we have a good handle on what tackle to bring, or perhaps I should admit that I don't know more than anyone else.

But, I will say this:  conditions may be way hotter than anything we've seen. There isn't enough sunscreen in the world to really protect your skin, so....

Big, broad brimmed hat. Bandanna for the neck.
Loose, synthetic, long sleeved shirt.
Nylon pants if I just can't tolerate a 3 mil wetsuit.
Big bottle of water...or whatever :smt003

Book to read...long way to go, maybe some games.

Regards,

Paul

I picked up a couple of pair of Columbia nylon backpacking pants at REI (on sale of course); the kind that have the removeable legs so you can wear them as shorts too.
I got them for sun protection and because they dry really quick.
Not sure what the H2O temps will be but I am also bringing a 3mm fj just in case.

So, I decide to go by Fisherman's Warehouse since I was considering a new rod for YT jigging.

I walk through the front door and the first rod in the rack just feet inside the door is an Okuma Cedros Speed Jig.  Okay, that was easy....... :smt044

Another item to pack if you are using scopolamine patches, I find I am way more comfortable with it if I bring sugarfree gum to chew.  Deals with the dry mouth without non-stop water chugging.

Yep, I'm excited.

I just looked at my Mexico gear and decided to order up some more Salas Jr.'s. Hope they arrive before next Saturday!

I can't wait! I'm missing a hell of a good school to go on this trip! Priorities!

I had a guy (name omitted to keep him from getting inundated with requests) change out my paper drag washers with carbon washers on both of my Daiwa STT30T reels and boy are they ready to go! They have never been this smooth!

Thanks again Mr You Know Who! Even though I think I have everything lined up, I'm starting to get the "oh my God...do I have everything?" feeling.

Only a week away!

Dan, I have the same feeling! My "lists" are on my desk and no matter how many times I go over them I just know I will miss something major. Less than a week for us as we are going south early to visit family and friends.

Now I'm thinking about installing a Scotty mount and I don't have a day off until Friday. Talk about last minute! If I decide to install one I'll have to trip down to Santa Rosa on Friday and pick one up, then trip back to Ukiah and install it, all before loading up the truck Friday night.

Why do I do these thing to myself?
