Pat & Mike arrived around 6:15am.  We got coffee and drove the car down closer to the water.  Ed showed up around 7am and we're OTW around 7:30am.  The wind was blowing but it'd calm down a little compared to earlier.   We decided to explore the slough to the West and anchored at a deep hole which marked lots of fish on the FF.  The wind was gutty at time and the fish were not hungry today even we offerred them anchovies, grass shrimp, and even Shiner!  Got 1 big pull down in the area between the bridges and it swam toward the yak,  reeled in the slag line quickly and set the hook but the bait was gone!  We paddled/pedalled over 6 miles today and enjoyed the scenery along the way.  Got back to shore around 12:30pm and saw Adam & Barbara were picking-up the trash so we joined them in this operation.   Kiel and Jedmo joined us later at the parking lot for some food and chills.  Thank you Adam, Barbara, Kiel, and Jedmo for showing up to help keep our local shore line clean and contributing the food.  Barbara's home made salad was delicious!
Here are some pictures of today hookup:

Pat & Mike arrived

Ed showed up later

Thanks for the invite Sonny. Got to meet a couple of super cool dudes
Pat and Mike yesterday. Sorry you guys didn't catch any fish. Perhaps
the fish are still full from all the bait that are still in the bay. I'm sure the
bite will turn on soon. Nice to see Barbara, Adam, Ed, and Kiel there too.

Sorry I could not hook up, had to deal with some family matters.  How was that launch site?  I am sure it is private property but might be safer than the public lot.  I have found a way to get under the 37 bridge on the west bank and have launched from there a few times but it makes me nervouse to leave my rig there, as there are a few cranksters in the area!  I know there are fish in the river (based on my trip last week) so the weather change may have cooled their heels.  Also sounds like fish are to be had up in the carquinez/suisun area which is great news!   Thanks for the post.  Jim

It was a primo cool day out there for me. Stopped by the c-biscuit bait shop for some fresh grassies and pulled into the launch a little later than I realized. Was good to see they guys out there in good spirits as I was initially feeling somewhat apprehensive pulling into an unknown area. Pat and Mike were at the ready with the fish sticks in hand.

Weather didn't look to promising, but it turned out to be a pretty nice day... all cozy like. Sonny took us on a nice cruise. It was a neat adventure and a fun place to check out with lots of different scenery from spot to spot. Look forward to fishing there again sometime as it was definitely a fishy kinda place!

Thanks to Sonny for running the gauntlet and everyone who was able to make it out there for a cool little hook up. Fried chicken and goodies at the end much appreciated. Adam & Barbaras tasty tomatoes hit the spot. Quite admirable to see those who care for the places they fish and support. Fish on.

awsome photos of a great day on the water!  I love being out there and you are right about it being fishy!  can't wait to get dragged by a dino around there soon.  I caught two nice 4-5 pounders there last week, just off the river in one of the cuts into the flood plain. Love the revo on the beemer!

the spot I caught fish was maybe 1.5 miles north of Highway 37 on the west bank.  It opens up into a big flooded area and before it dispersed into it there as a nice bowl maybe 10-15 feet deep.  Looked fishy and was!  This picture shows where I pulled out on the top of the bank on the incoming and threw bait back in the "bowl" area behind me.

Thanks sonny for the hook up and it was really cool to finally meet the people I read about. I feel like I got to fish with a movie star, and cant wait to do it again fish or no fish. Just got finished cleaning all that salt off my gear to get ready for this weekend in the FW (little grass valley res) trolling for trout. Thanks again sonny and ed for the great time and nice to see people that care about the places they play and great pics......Pat

It's my pleasure to meet you and Mike last Sunday.  If I'm still in town in October, I'll do another hookup again as the Stripers and Sturgeon should be there in force!
