Going will be a last minute decision for me, 'tis the busy season.

I don't know anything about Davenport other than some pretty wild surfing vids posted here. Are there reefs to fish? Or ...????

Yeah, I realize that the launch depends on the conditions, but is Davenport newbie friendly ... and yes I consider myself a newbie - when it comes to salt.

Eric, I'm 50-50 at this point.  Gotta get things squared away with the wife.

Yes it is dependent on the conditions but 90% of the time you can launch in decent conditions someware in the cove.
If we have bad weather we can always fish for perch off the beach  :smt003
See you all on the 30th

Almost always launchable.  If a stiff wind comes up  or there's a bigger swell the fishing can be difficult or impossible.

Great if you have not been there to come to this event for a try at the spot.  Plenty of freinds around if you get into trouble.

Can be VERY fishy, also can skunk you.  Now is a good time of year to fish this spot.

Rockfish is closed so isn't this just a halibut tourny.

-Brian G

Update: PK corrected me that its still open. No time on the water makes me go crazy.

North of Pigeon Pt closes Oct 31. South of Pigeon Pt closes Nov 15. But this might be a halibut or bust tourney anyways.
