I will be trying out my new Revo for the first time tomorrow at Stillwater Carmel with my buddies.  I been a there a couple of times using a Malibu and Tarpon. Its mostly smooth sand, minor gravel.
A few questions.
1. Should I launch with the peddles installed? - (off position course)
2. Advice on fishing inside kelp with peddles, lock the peddles - off position or take them out?  I am just thinking its a pain to take them on and off when I move spots.
3. Re-entry, take peedles out or on off position?

Thanks in advance.

For stillwater last weekend, I had a hard time in the kelp.  It's thicker this year than the previous three years I've fished there.  In the end, I didn't really even use the drive hardly at all.

But, you can launch with peddles installed, easily.  Then you may want to pull out if you want to cut to the right of the launch to make it out around the point.  If you want though, you can keep going straight off the launch and all the way around the kelp, but its a much longer route.

Sometimes I like the pedals to get tangled up a bit so I can pothole the kelp, and usually I can get through any minor kelp without pulling out the drive.  Just be ready to if you get really stuck, dont want a swell to knock ya over.

Re-Entry at low tide, i'd pull them out cause there are a few rocks close to shore.  High tide, its all sand baby!

Yup, do a search on the fishing reports section for Carmel or Stillwater.  Some quality fish caught (not by me though :smt044)

one thing I have not seen mentioned is a tether.  do tether that drive whenever you have it out of the drive bay.  a new drive is around 500.00!
