Recon report, was looking more for a work out than anything else on Sunday.  We spent Saturday night on Ruby Port and launched from the boat ramp by the chevron station on the water in Sausalito.  Trolled a big loop towards highway 101 then across to the Tiburon side and over to our boat for a lunch break.  After lunch I trolled towards the golden gate and back and got a great work out.  No fish evident other than a Sea Lion ripping apart a halibut and some porpoises cruising around me feeding on some bait of some sort.  nice kayak work out, would have loved to come across some stripers at some point.   Richardsons bay had a lot of sea grass in it so was obnoxious to troll in but out front in front of downtown Sausalito was nice, and a great view (wink wink).   Nice to be able to stop and take a break on the boat inbetween kayak rides!

That's a great workout OTW!  Thanks for the report and nice pictures of Sausalito.

Hanging on the boat between kayak rides.  I like that.  Sounds like a nice way to experience it.  Thanks for sharing.   :smt001

We feel very lucky to live in the hills above St. Helena and then be able to hang in Sausalito on the weekends!  Two of my favorite places to be!

That was my gal on our boat, didn't even realize she was in the shot until I posted, I was looking at the yaks!  She will like the compliment!  I was always more of a C and R guy when it came to my girlfiends, but not anymore, I have found the person I want to kayak through life with.  Who would have ever thought an old fisherman could be so happy!

If you want a real "kayak ride with a fishing pole" set up your reel with some 120lb braided and hook into a big shark with the drag locked up, lol.

What were you fishing with? Next time you see the bait action, jig some up, pin one on a hook and drop it to the bottom. Then you may be the one mackin down a hali instead of the furbags. Stripers love live bait as well
