Just got back from a trip of a lifetime.  I got a call from my brother-in-law last week offering me a great deal that I could not pass up, an Alaskan fishing trip.  So, off to Alaska we went with only three days notice. We flew from Sac to Seattle then to Anchorage; we then hopped on a DC3 (which was built in 1970) and flew to Quanahawk on the Kanektok River.  Once we landed, we then jumped into a jet boat for a            thirty- minute trip up-river cruise to are destiny – an AlaskaWest tent camp where we spent 6 days and 7 nights.  It was a fly-fishing heaven. We fished for 10 hours a day for six days straight.  On average, we caught 30 +++++ Silver Salmon, Chumme Salmon, Rainbow Trout, Dolly Vardens and Gray Lings each day.  This place was a fish factory. On their website it said you will catch fish until your arms and back ache, they were not exaggerating; they did! We fished with 7-weight fly rods for the Salmon, some on top water poppers-- what a thrill that was-- and we used 5-weight fly rods for the Rainbow trout and the Dolly Vardens, which are quite the little fighters.  I am still in awe!!   I still cannot believe there is a place like that on earth. I don’t think they call it Fishing there;  I think they call it CATCHING :smt003 :smt007.

Here are some pic’s of our trip.  Enjoy! :smt006

Fantastic Pat! Alaska is the last stop I am afraid. Those pics are just amazing. The fish jumping shot was very cool as was the last shot on the water. Thanks for the post, Craig.
