Beautiful brook trout! Do you ever catch goldens out there?

No goldens right there but at the outflow of White Rock Lake there are some small specie about 6-7 inches long. This stream is real small. The color of the goldens are just amazing. Only a supreme being could create such beauty.

Thanks, Your brook reminded me of the brooks and goldens I caught in Tamarack creek back in the 1980's.I agree about their sublime beauty.

Very nice Craig, looks like my back yard .
We need to do a back pack trip from Grouse ridge and see how many of those lakes hold fish.

Isn't that a brown? I thought Brookies had more red on there fins. At least the ones I used to catch in the southern Sierras.

I so miss the Sierra's!  I need to get up there, anywhere for a few days!  After loosing job, dad passing, and no call backs from job hunt, I NEED TO GET AWAY.  Nice shots.  My very first trout I caught was with my dad it was a little brookie.  We were camping, I was too young to remember exactly where, maybe around Angles camp? he liked that area.

Hope I get these pics right. Anyway, the less colorful is Brown, and the one with red is Brook. Yours is a nice looking fish. Headed to eastern Sierras next week to try for some large Browns at and around Mammoth Lakes. Horseshoe lake has some nice Brooks too.

Yes it was a little brown. Those little guys put up quite a fight for the size. The colors of those small fish are way more glorious than the larger ones.We also caught a couple of small native bows way up too. If you want to see a real beautiful high lake in Desolation google Smith Lake. Right about 8500ft or so. Not as high as some but surrounded by a huge granite bowl 500ft high.
