I checked out the video on launching & Landing through the surf....man...these guys have it easy with what they call "surf". Maybe we should do some videos on "Norcal launching & Landing on surf" Maybe we can feature Linda Mar on a minus tide and Bean Hollow on a typical day  :surf

La jolla actually has moderately large surf.  For some reason the area in front of the loading zone is pretty mild, but to either side it gets large enough that people board on it.  It's a long, shallow break, so you pretty much have to deal with a wave or two going by on the way in and out, but they're only about 18" tall.

Hey Joel,

Come with us  to La La Land.  (La Jolla).  It will be sweet.  John may take Bro. Mike.  But we will work something, out.

A Yellow Tail (30 lbs) with pull around a sturgeon (50 lbs) like it was a flea on the the back of a dog.

Ken, when are you guys planning to go to LJ?

If you give us advance notice, we might be able to get a small group to go.  We can set-up carpools and rooms to reduce costs and maximize fun.

Mike "Conejoman" from the Kayak4Fish board lives close enough to La Jolla.  He told me to give him a call when I'm ready to hit the yellowtail bite.  He'd be our guide at no cost.

I would be interested in making a trip to La Jolla with a couple of weeks notice.  Let me know.

Make sure y'all get ocean enhancement stamps then.  I never even thought of it last time, wasn't a problem but it could've been.

Josh,

Ocean Stamp? What is that?

Also,  Kevin is will probably be on short notice.  You want to go when the bite is hot and the water temps come and go.  A lot less than up here.  But , they still change.

It could be on 2 or 3 days notice.

Page 3 of the regs, says you require the ocean enhancement stamp when fishing south of point arguello (by point conception).  I think it's like the striped bass stamp, only for white seabass, or something similar.

Hi Josh,

I looked on the DFG page.  Now I know it is not the same.  It is going for $3.70 and not $5.25.

This was 2004 regs.

Thanks,  Ken
