Hello all you social yakers at Albion!
I ended up all alone again down in Big Sur w/ nothing to do but ...er...fish.
The conditions were wonderful and I scored all the rules allow.
On top of it all was my biggest ling in years. He towed the kayak around and played himself out on my spinning rod. Leadhead jig tipped with squid.
His head was as big as mine and made the kayak noticeably harder to pull up the beach!

More stats....and clues.
Hes laid out on the tailgate of a chevy silverado and about as wide as the Cobra fish n' dive that Mickfish sold me. [Thanks Mick!]
and another big greenling....and beautiful seascape...and wonderful rocky decent with kayak and all.

Dare I say more....cuz I fear Adam [ fishhunter] will follow and beat me again!]

I had to be in San Diego on business and the wife says "Why not save time and fly down?"
"Ooops too late I say. The flights are expensive on short notice and I need the car to take associates around and to dinner etc."
"But its such a long drive." she says.
"Oh, its OK. I'll stop and rest up on the way back."
So, I finished up business quick and rushed to Big Sur from the Southern end. Camped at San Simeon and Kirk . LimeKiln was closed ...like really closed up for good!
2 days on the water...lots of catch and release rockies, lotsa keepers to. The fridge is full but as the wife is a very social Tongan...she gives it away as fast as I catch em. [We feed a lot of people.]
It was a trip to remember and the ling was just the cherry on top.
[Shhhh. She thinks I did it on a quick stop on the last day .] :smt044
