Porky and myself are considering SWS Saturday or Sunday.

Everyone who is anyone will be at Albion, so the rest of us have MB to ourselves!

With the wharf to wharf race this weekend, I'll stay away from SC or Cap.
Thinking about an early, early launch Saturday.
Company welcome ... we'll be on 69

I'm one of the nobody's who will not be able to make Albion, and will be fishing around here on Sunday. Maybe I'll drive down and see you there! I've never fished SWS, but after the last 3 sessions at LM am up for a change in scenery...
Just a walleye fisherman from MN tryin' ta get salty!

Just the pinnacles outside past the point, oh yeah and the whol;e south edge of Carmel Bay....Better look at a reserve map to be sure, mark the #'s in your gps.

I put the coords into google earth.
A visual is from the point along the North side of the bay near PB at the outer edges of the cove, draw a line due west 1/2 mile that is where the preserve area is. It extends 1.6 miles west from there and south about 0.60 miles south basically a rectangle that is called the carmel pinnacle preserve. So if you stay within 1/2 mile of the shore or North of the point, you're ok

The Sanctuary is from the point south and east towards PB.

I am fairly comfortable with the zone as long as I stay north of the point.

Do you think this area will be affected by the large swells being forcasted?

The swells will definately make a difference. We will watch the swells and wind forecast.
Won't be the first time we had to change our location or date due to weather or waves.
Sometimes in close nearer the point is ok in the kelp when it gets rough. But we've fished it when there were small craft warnings and 12' plus swells. It was a rodeo and impossible to fish. Spent all our time keeping above water.

We will look again tomorrow. I'm off so will have a lot of couch time tomorrow to monitor it.

Ya judging by what I saw this is a funky swell coming up from the south so I imagine the most northern point of the cove would be most affected by the swell. Also the swell is forcasted to begin tomorrow so mabye it will deminish by Sunday(wishfull thinking).
