I went for the Neosport XSpan Paddle John; arrived a couple of days ago.  I don't have any experience with wetsuits, but this does seem noticeably stretchier than the couple of others I tried on.

The Kokatat Tempest gear isn't in my budget right now.  Seems pretty great... I'll file that away for later.

The Kokatat Tempest gear, is it just for salt or would it be great for cold weather wear in a yak in cold water conditions in the Sierras too?

You are looking for the Kokatat Tempest pants and jacket.

If that's what you're recommending .. yep .. sounds like the way to go .. so .. just have to know where and when to get it.

I think I have an Outback in my immediate zone now .. guy selling one that had his drive ripped off. 2007 model.  I plan on fishing. Or tagging along with someone and trying to fish.

You might try out a Hobie Revo also .I have both and like my Revo alot .I went with the farmerjohn suit for 115.00 at MBK and am happy so far . Iam also a newbie to this . You should take a surf launch class realy helped me out . Learn how to paddle your boat before you pedal . You'll learn how to be more stable then learn the pedal part . My 10 cents worth .David
