The battery box seems a bit steep. You can make one way cheaper. The battery should be about $20-25 (Cabela's has it with a charger). The wiring is a couple of bucks and a tupperware type box a few bucks. I'd think you could make it all for $30-35. What boat are you putting this into?. Heck I'll make one for you for $75  :smt044

Dont forget the foam knee pad for transduder "Donut" wet mount, use the marine goop to glue the foam pad to hull. Not the transducer! (Lay 2 donuts down to make it thicker if you need to)

I bought a 12 volt battery and put it in an old tupperware. 25 dollars total and works perfect.

I just installed the eagle 300 - I was going for hali's so i was watching more for structure and drop offs on the bottom but it also helped me find bait - $79 bucks at Cabelas

it was an easy install and worked perfectly first time out yesterday.  The most useful tip I read online was to keep the tube of goop pressed against the yak while you are squeezing it out for the transducer.  That will help prevent any air bubbles from getting in your goop causing problems with the FF.

The battery should be way cheaper i bought a 12v motorcycle battery for $40 that will run it for 8 hours easy and the box was $6 at walmart
