I got invited to spend the day with some friends at Doran, and let the kids play.  I was thinking of going around to the north jetty area and fishing some rockies, make bait, and drift the flats south of the south jetty for butts.  Fillet the rockies and drop some hoops for dungies. Should be fun. Anyone interested or have any tips/input?

You better only keep the Rock Crabs, Dungies are closed.

Rock crabs are plentiful on the left jetty.
be careful on the and try to avoid being between the two jetties.  The PB come out and in pretty fast.
Bring shrimp and float, the jacksmelts are in. :smt003
fun to catch with light tackle.

I was going to check the regs, and yep dungies are closed. :smt005 But rock fish and maybe a butt off of the smelt should be fun.

Ab season is closed so I'm in. Got the same plan with the familly this weekend.  Look for the yellow cobra triple on dawn patrol Saturday Am.  If the sabaki (sp?) gives me some bait I'll drift for flatties.
