We hit the beach for a while today, I tried out the Tempest pants for surf, worked great. I tossed swimbaits and hair-raisers, I left my box of castmasters etc at the house :smt009, birds busting for hours, moving about, sometimes right on shore, I got a few hits but nothing stuck. Saw some big fish chasing little fish in the surf, silhouettes, very cool.

Nice pics, most likely stripers was what those silhouettes were, those birds are in very close, I'm surprised nothing hit your swimbaits

great shots of the birds Ben.
bummer about the victimless day. makes it even tougher when you can see them on the hunt

They were stripers alright, good view of the linesides even tho it was a silhouette, gig ones too, Ive always landed them there on castmasters or grubs, they just were not taking the wild-eye chovie or white or red hairaisor. I even threw one of my butterknives. 100 plus casts  for nada and I still love it.

Funny the Wild eye anchovy didn't work.  Good luck on the hali-striper double-header.  I always thought NCKAers would do better on the Marin Co big bass.  A buddy of mine brought one big hair-raiser to Stinson one day last summer.  Perfect day.  Feeding frenzy started up right in front of him.  He takes ONE CAST which gets grabbed by a pelican; his girlfriend makes him cut the line so he loses the lure and spends the rest of the afternoon watching 20 lb+ bass feasting away.
