Didn't do much fishing but did ALOT of chillin!! Met up with my boy Alain ( Alshobie ) and basically chilled the whole weekend. Belive it or not we cooked up and ate soooo much food it was ridiculous. OH ya I did manage to catch A F-in ticket...Headed up to the van to take A snooze only to be awakened by A DFG agent. I was totally in the wrong but never saw it coming. I left my fishing pole on waters edge baited for catfish and A bell like ive done A hundred times before.. Well I got ticketed for leaving my pole unattended. :smt013. Lesson learned. Other than that had A great time with family and friends.

glad you got to chill, but the ticket sucks.  I wonder what the definition of "attending" is?

 Hello Master1Fish

Sorry to hear about the citation, can't believe the DFG even visits lakes with mercury contamination.

Sounds like a fun time--wish I could've been in 2 places at once. And bummer on the ticket. I got stopped for speeding on the way home yesterday, so I feel your pain. Next time tie a rope from your rod to your foot....then you can sleep AND tend your rod at the same time haha!

Bummer on the small turnout, but with you n Al I'm sure it was a good time.

Next time tie a string from your rod tip to your toe!

I thought you could be away from you fishing pole as long as you are around. I
guess the sleeping is what actually got you.LOL Dude, sorry about the ticket man.
I hope it doesn't cost too much.

Soooo busy this week, haven't been able to read much less post to the forum.   :smt009  Will say that I chilled so much, didn't even take my yak down off the car, or even put a line in the water  :smt044  Highlight for the weekend for me was the good times with Andy's family and his Fishing Pole Kite rig, which was such a BLAST!!!

Here are some pics  :smt003

glad you got to chill, but the ticket sucks.  I wonder what the definition of "attending" is?

On the Central Coast it seems pretty clear the DFG has their marching orders - create revenue for our bankrupt state.  Let's shut down PROFITABLE campgrounds and ticket the fisherman anywhere we can.

As far as a definition, whatever #$&*head (dfg cop) feels the definition of "attending" should be that day is law ...  that guy has been harassing people a lot more this year than in year's past.  He could have easily said something like "Just a warning - you have to be next to your rod if its in the water.  If I see it again I'll have to write a ticket.  Have a nice 4th of July weekend.  Thanks for visiting Lake San Antonio."   He had a choice and has to understand that people are there on vacation - relaxing - in this case sleeping.  I understand the state is broke and he is "doing his job" but give me a break - that is petty.

I'd be prepared to fight it.  My buddy was shocked when his ticket was $400!  That was for "possession of a cast net" that was stored away and not being used.

Glad you had a good time aside from him giving you the ticket.  Hopefully we can hit it together sometime (on one of #$&*head's days off preferably) :smt005
