Maaaaaaybe MBK Sunday, questions?

So I might, just might hit MBK on sunday...

Never fished it, nor do I know how to translate the forcast for that area...

"SUN…SW WINDS 10 KT. WIND WAVES 2 FT OR LESS.
NW SWELL 4 TO 6 FT. PATCHY FOG."

What type of day is this for MBK? Just dont want to drive down there if its gonna be messy, if it is messy conditions, Ill just hit capitola..

Can any regulars comment on what there seeing for weather down there

Honestly, MBK is usually calmer than Capitola. I have seen gnarly waves at Cap as well as rough seas offshore there. Whereas I have never seen waves bigger than 4' at MBK and the offshore area is more protected from the prevailing marine conditions.
So any swell less than 6-8ft is fine at MBK. It's the wind that causes most problems there...especially for those who attempt to paddle north to the Beach Hotel haha. Avoid days when it says the wind may reach 25kts.

A standard forecast for MBK is something like: 5-10kt N wind. Wind waves 2ft or less. NW swell 4-6ft.
I'd go out Sunday if I was going to be here, but I'll be at Marine World w/my son. Or, umm, Discovery Kingdom now.

Also, do you have any suggstions as where to fish? Its all new turf down there for me....

I was at the aquarium last sunday, saw some guys stright out in the kelp.... Just looking for a few fish!

yeah, think you can launch anytime there.  9$ or 10$ for parking at MBK.  But if you want to unload there, you can re-park down the side streets to save some $$. 

Where to fish?  Hell I don't really know, but I like to start at the kelp beds, and then venture out farther looking for schools of fish with your FF!

Bloodbath here! Going to fish Sunday somewhere around the SC to Monterey Area. If calm, gonna hit Bean Hollow. If not MBK here I come. Let's go. Been fishing these areas for a while now.

I think the check in is 6:30 (launch at 7) so I'll be there around 6 to gear up and sort out the team side bet.
