An impromptu garage sale that my girlfriend planned caused me to show up mid day at Paradise, pretty much as most of everyone else was leaving.  The wind was howling pretty good, so I pretty much paddled for 6 hours straight with a few small breaks.  At about 3 pm, three party boats showed up offshore and the nets started flying.  I decided to let the wind take me closer to them when I was about 200 yards from the party boats, I got a good bite and immediately hooked up.  It was a shorty about 20" that procceeded to get me soaking wet upon release. Oh well, that's why I wear dry bottoms.  Quickly got another shiner down and got another good bite right away.  Gave him some slack and reeled down hard when I thought I had him.  Nothing.  Missed opportunity.  Shiner looked like a horror movie victim.  At that point, the sailboats near Paradise were looking pretty tiny, so I decided to head back.  I tried to get another drift through my "slot" but the tide was ripping me towards the gate and the wind waves were such that I couldn't effectively paddle up tide w/ out getting doused.  Got another scratched bait on the troll with a shiner, but nothing else.  All-in-all a fun but tiring day on the water.  Can't wait to time the wind and tides well to crush it out there.

Are you paddling a red yak?  I tried to contact you on CH69 around 3:30pm but got no reply.  I went in around 4pm and you still out there that day braving the wind.  Thanks for the report and welcome to the board.
