Had plans to go over to the coast, but all the wind changed my mind. So my neighbor and I floated the Tuolumne, about 6 miles got out about 4 miles before the the Tuolumne dumps into the San Joaquin river. We were on the river 5 hrs except for a couple of bends we had the wind blowing us up river all day, it was a nice little paddle. We didn't catch anything of great size 12" max on anything, but we caught LMB, SMB, Strippers and some nice pan size channel cats every time we stopped to fish. Found some nice holes 14' deep, that was a surprise. The plan was to float as far as we could, but my friends back was getting sore, it was his 2nd trip in a SOT he wasn't quit up to going any farther. So we called it a day. Here are some pics of the day.

Hi Keo,  I haven't yaked that area, but I've been meaning to drift down from Fox grove just to see what its like.  When we do it I'll drop you a note. Have you tried fishing Fox Grove? Put in there and paddle up river to check out the current in the river, I've caught some nice LMB there.

It's only 10 minutes away for me, so I try to fish there a couple times a month. It's a fair bet for LMB. I've heard of big stripers being caught there, but I've not even hooked a little one. There is only one place where the current can be a little frustrating (read: paddle like hell) in an are maybe 3/4 of a mile long.

Fox Grove is on my list also, I was told there's some great LMB fishing there.

Hey, Keo

Sorry for the delay, I work m-f. Fox grove from Mod, Get on Hatch rd go east all the way to the end of Hatch rd. Take a left go down a mile or so and on the right is fox grove fishing access. Paddle up river you'll find some nice areas to fish.

Next time I get a chance to take out the Yak, lake, Ocean or River I'll drop you a note.
