Yup! from now on I'll leave the action shots to Sonny. I only wish that there
was more time to fish for halibuts being that I will be going to the Philippines
soon. I am more determined now than ever.
Dude take pictures of your fish after you catch it and it's on your game clip. No one cares about pics of you catching the fish. Next time we go fishing together I am going to hide your camera from you till you have your fish on the gameclip.
Very funny Ariel but true. Please hide my camera until the fishing is over.
Jedmo if it was in the net all the way get the rod out of the way and grab both sides of the net with one hand so it cannot get out. put it on the clip, kill it and then take pics. I did see in the second pic that the hook was just on by the slightest bit. I want that ones mama tommorrow.

Dustin, how many is that this year so far? I think that every time I have seen you in a post you have fish. Still going south?
Thanks for the tips Craig. I hope there will be another chance for me. I am still learning
very much as I go.

Bummer Jedmo. One other tip is not to pull the halibuts head out of the water when you are trying to land it. They will stay cool as long as there head is in the water.

Thanks Bill, another eye opener for me here. I could still have landed that fish if that
was the case because he was already in the net. Man I am kicking myself in the @ss.
I think I'll go back in the fridge and see if there is anymore of Martin's homemade beer.
All this stress over losing a fish. I can't take it anymore. :smt005 LOL
There goes my diet for this week.

Good seeing everyone and meeting new friends as well.  Shannon and i had a blast, well, except we still have not got a dang butt yet. I swear, we have caught more butts fishing the shore, but this sure is fun.  Shannon did get a small striper first thing, we kind of knew that was the death sentence, well that and giving Keith $1.00 for the halibut tourney when we got shiners.  See, told ya Jed.  :smt002
Can't wait to get back to rock cod, our OCD is better served when we can jig lures all day instead of dead drift.  :smt003

Thanks Allan for encouraging my wife to let me fish more often. She told me what
you had said that's how I know. I would also do the same if I ever see your wife
one of these days. :smt003

Thanks again for the pics, Jed.

I didn't make it to LL Bait in time for live shiners, but luckily Bob was in his PB right in front of the pier when I launched. I got a few shiners from him and went to work by the pilings. Lots of bait but not a lot happening out there so I made my way back toward the pier area and south by the point.

I caught my thick little 25"er on the Hail Mary drift. Jed and I stuck it out like soldiers in the wind and funky current. I had even mentioned to him that we DESERVED a fish for sticking it out like we did. A little while later Jedmo called it and I told him I was right behind him. On the way back to the Pier I saw my shiner get very nervous, so I stopped paddling and grabbed my rod. Sure enough just a few seconds later my pole went bendo and the fish was on. Jedmo paddled over and let me borrow his net for a rather lackluster landing and fish beating.

Good seeing everyone else out there.
