Fished incoming with my friend Eric. (9:30 -12:30)   1 small fish for the efforts, and I carried home the skunk.  Seemed that most everyone we talked to was having a slow day of it. Regardless it was a nice paddle.  Looking forward to next trip.

Thanks for the report.  I was wondering if the stripers where there.  Better luck next time.

As long as you guys enjoyed the paddle... it's never a bad day.

funny that...I launched at noon, must have been you guys I saw coming in.
Managed six (plus another six long long distance releases) along the rockwall, almost all of them coming off the inlet.  Once the wind changed directions and there were white caps coming FROM the rockwall out, I hightailed it back in.
Off the water by 2:30.

The fish are in there, by the looks of the crew set up from shore I would bet that fish are being caught by those guys...

The one spot we never tried.  Good for you Steve.  If that was you in the Yellow 'Yak - that was us.  Geez it was so slow for me, I never had a scratch.  We contemplated coming down to ask if you had picked up any fish, and decided we would call it a day instead.  Glad you caught a few.

I saw you guys standing on the beach while I kept circling round, thought you might come over...ah well.   Wind waves were a pain, though they did give great action to the lure.
Yesterday I got SKUNKED at san quentin- first time in a while, guess you have to pay your dues.

jack smelt: two footlong   giants!   :smt003

I kept one out of culinary curiosity.  How would such a plump herring-like fish grill up?  Or pickle?  If anyone has eaten some jack smelt, let me know.   I really like grilled and pickled shad as well as shishamo and nishin Japanese style.
