Eagle cuda 242 or 245DS?

Been reading all the posts and was considering 350/gps mapping but for the $$$ 198.?? the 242 is 79 245ds 99.00

Which would be the choice...ready to pull the trigger....but am still on fence....

Eagle has a new unit thatis an improved 240 called the 245DS and it looks unbeatable.  Dual bean trans, the good ol bulletproof 240 housing and a price of $99.

Bummer, I just got one from Bass Pro for $99.00 with shipping.  dang.

My warning on the "good old 240 housing."  Mine leaked (2 year old unit) and killed it.  I'm gonna cut a long strip of Gorilla duct tape and put it over the seal completely around the unit on this new one.

Well Almost got a little extra ching...thinking 350 cuda s/map gps might be better...saw a few posts on them their 199.00 is it worth the extra 100 bucks??? was planning on using that 100 for hardware and maybe a camera

would have one unit not 2 and have read the pros and cons...

I just purchased the 350 but haven't had it out yet.  The plus is that it has maps/gps for only an extra $100.  The bad, it is an extra $100.  You have to weigh the importance - it is different for everybody.  For me, it is going on my second yak and the extra $100 for maps/gps was worth it.

I doubt you'll find a camera for $100 but you could save it and put it towards a camera.  And $100 would purchase some nice hardware/accessories.

I know I've been no help but just trying to throw some things out there.  Good luck in your decision.

Thanks Michael u have been some help, I slept on it...no snide remarks guys... and woke up thinking "yep" gps/mapping would be priceless last yr I spent 100 days in a row at OC depending on wind everyday OTW man if I had those waypoints....
