yep...once again more is less. On the salt I use two rods one small box with all my terminal tackle and one with irons, lead heads and plastics. All the tackle MUST fit in my plano box or it doesn't go with me.

Agreed. This is how I roll.
I just try to picture my kayak getting tossed around by a 6foot dumping wave, and try to pack accordingly.

I'm glad your alright. I pulled a newbie mistake on Saturday , my wife and I decided to run the American River to relax and do a little spot fishing on the way down. We put in at Rossmoor Bar on our way to Discovery. Well about 4 miles I discovered that we must of cracked the hull on a couple riffles coming down and we were about half full of water. Well I had everything but "Duct Tape" so I fashioned a pretty nice field dressing with "Medical Tape" out of the first aid kit. The first patch lasted about 6 miles were we had to empty again. the second lasted the remaining 7 miles and when we pulled out it was still secure no water. My hats off to the maker of that medical tape, but we also stopped on the way home and bought some Duct Tape to keep on board.

And WTTM drew90! Good contribution and hopefully will remind people to pack some duct tape. I had to patch a rip in an 8-man raft with duct tape once. Fortunately, it worked great because we were about 3 miles into a 20-mile float down the E Carson from Markleeville to NV....and there are no services along that route!
