Who's going and when? I plan on driving up Thursday night, diving Friday and fishing Sat and maybe diving Sat. Does anyone know how vis is? The weather/water forecast is looking good.

Salt Point Ocean Conditions Website says plankton bloom is still in full force with crap vis. But diving Fort Ross cove on memorial day weekend it was alot better vis down there than up at O.C. which is closer to Gerstle where the rangers check the vis for the report. If the wind stays down I'll be up fishing the Fort. Will probably hold off on diving unless the plankton dies off and vis improves this week.

Hmm.....just checked the surf forecast and there is a little south groundswell supposed to come in for the opener. Might have to bring the surfboard and get my $7.00 worth. If this swell is for real should make launching down at Reef interesting for those that dare. Not I.

We are going to launch at Reef at around 6am If the swell is too much we will be at the fort. When there is a south swell it's knocked down by Pedottis reef. And comes into the fort relatively full force. The fort is protected from the NW swell. The last time I launched at the fort was in1982. You could drive down to the beach and unload then and drive back up to park. Is it still like that? I have always launched at Reef since then.

Good morning Craig. Yes, at Ft Ross, you still have to drive your kayak
down and repark your car up the hill afterwards.

Good morning Merv. I am still begging my wife for that Saturday drive at
Ft Ross. I was gone Fri. and Sat. all day for myself for fishing and golf.
She is still not to happy about me being gone that long. When I was
gone for Shelter Cove, she understood because it was planned for
quite sometime. The fishing and golfing for two days in a row was a spur
of the moment thing so she is still mad about that.

Have a good one,
Jedmo

Jed, iy is easier to beg for forgiveness later than ask permission today.  Just go dude, and blame it on me, I am cool with that.

Naoaki and I will be launching Sat at the Fort most likely.  We're driving out Friday night.  Not sure where we are crashing.

Howdy all,
I haven't been able to rally my buddies to go camping this weekend so I would love to join all of you at FR. I haven't fished here before only dove for abalone. Is this spot better the Salt Point? I seem t ohave good luck there but would like to try something new. I'll probably head up bright and early Sat morning to launch around 7 in weather stays good.
