Made to the cove for a super flat ocean. Hit the water at 8:30 and headed out in front of the hotels, tough crowd. Marked fish but nothing doing.

The drift was difficult but it got better right at noon, then the bite got better too.
Wound up drifting south and had a ball, even the lings were mid-water. Got one on the drop even.

I have tried to write this post five times today but I think the pics were too big. New camera.

So, 5 lings, 2 cabs, and 19 rockies of various kinds.

 Heres some pics.

It had the a nice description too.

Here are some more photos. I will try to make them a bit larger next time. :smt003

Hey Dom... Everyone was telling me that they had posted my picture in the store.
I never had a chance to look at it. I was too busy with everything else while
we were there.

and some more, now that I think I figured this out.

I just got my new camera the other day. It is a canon d10, shockproof to 4ft and waterproof to 33ft. We will see about that.

OH YEAH BABY!!!!   :smt007  Just love seeing reports from Da Cove!  Hopefully my trip to the Ol' Sur will be as productive this weekend!  :smt044

Btw, if you use XP or Vista, there is a Image Resize Tool you can get from Microsoft, that does the job with a right click on any image file.  Makes it very easy to scale down the pics for upload!

That trough IS serious.  Dom lays a 19" red in there out at the Cape and goes about working with other things on deck as the big rockie flops in the trough, basically unable to get out of it!  I can't wait to see a big ling laid out in that thing - the "Goliath Gurney"...   :smt005

Great pics and report - that camera takes some quality images.  I like the red with the Cove in the background.  Let's go get some more fish blood on that apparatus.   :smt002

Yes I made the "goliath gurney" for GSIII because they were out the AOTY ones. It is a bit on the large side but it does "hold" the fish nicley. :smt003 I riveted an eye loop to the front for a tether, next thing some floatation is in order.

The material list is pretty short.

Some 6in sewer pipe, its alot cheaper than schedule 40 PVC. I asked for a piece of  scrap and it was about $1.00 a foot.

The end cap was the expensive part at $10.

Some Lexan  and pop rivets.

Then I snapped a chalk line down the side and cut it with some offset tinsnips. I cut the cap in half with the sawzall. Nothing to it.
The time consuming part was transfering the measurments.
