Finally able to get out on the water for the first time since Shelter Cove. Got out of work this morning at 9am and hit Merritt for bait. Managed to net 12 fat smelt, 2 big shiners, and 3 nice size sardines. Launched ARW at 1030am. Slight wind & chop out of the launch, 15mins later calm & flat.

BIG BIG BIG pulldown at the break with headshakes all the way up. Soon as my sinker broke the surface what ever it was I had hooked came unbuttoned. SUCKS!

Pinned another fat smelt on, as soon as it hits the bottom smack. Brought this flatty up to the net.

Trying out my home made pvc overhead cam mount.

Took her home and broiled her up.

PVC/Scotty Camera holder mount.

Aluminum plate for added strength. I can probably mount a small Scotty downrigger here also

Totally adjustable cam mount made with all the spare Scotty hardware & holders I had laying around the garage.

Cam pod fits perfectly snug in the small Scotty rodholder

Thats along time to be off the water, glad you held it together! :smt003

Nice fish, looks tasty!

I cant wait till the halibut bite in Humboldt  picks up.

The overhead mount is a killer idea too.

Good job!  Were you using live bait?  If so, how did you keep them alive from LM to ARW?  Also, how'd you keep them alive in the yak?  Do you have a livewell?
