I want to find a great home for these fabulous doggies. They are just adorable and it's heartbreaking to let them go. I pray that someone, somewhere can help us keep Cookie and Coco together, and love them just as much as we do.  Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

I hate humans.  Yeah, we love our dogs like family, well except for the fact that when we move we'll get rid of them like an old couch.   Hopefully we can find someone else who will love them just as much as we do, which means giving them away again when it's time to move   :smt011

Before we judges someone too soon, we should try to understand his/her situations like: what if they had to move to an apartment that don't allow pets?  BTW, not all humans are bad so please don't hate humans.

My thinking is what if the apartment said they wouldn't take kids?  They'd just find another one.  I'm someone who thinks of a pet as family as opposed to an item/furniture.  Have moved internationally with a dog, and the Bay area locally even though it can be a PITA to find a place.  Anyways, apologize for the thread crap.  Well, not really.

I understand your way of thinking.   The above example I pointed out is just 1 of many possible situations.  My point here is not to judge a person or race before we know/understand the reasons behind their actions.

They're already adopted according to the link agarcia posted.

Now, hopefully, people will think about adopting homeless pets that don't have the good fortune of being as cute as this pair...

"I had been looking for a home for both of my dogs together for over four months. My house was in foreclosure, and I knew it was a bad time."

After a series of personal misfortunes, the mother of three found herself finally able to afford the rent at a local apartment building — but dogs over 25 pounds were prohibited.

While I understand bigdood's comment, I also agree that not every situation is so clear-cut...especially in this economy.  I've had dogs all of my life, and personally I'd rather live in my truck than part with my 16 year-old buddy Shiro.  But this lady has three kids, lost her home to foreclosure and probably never expected to find herself in that situation.  I'm glad the pups found a home together, though!  :smt004

It's not PC to say this but perhaps 3 kids and two large dogs, (a working breed, at that) might be a bit much for one woman to handle...   it was her call...

No sympathy here, except for the dogs.

Martin, if I were retired, I would have taken both. But that status won't be possible for at least two more years.

A lot of people get dogs when they buy a house, and all the people losing houses these days have resulted in a lot of dogs that have to be given up.  Often people have 2 or 3 dogs and rental property owners will only allow 1 small dog, or charge an additional $1000 security deposit per dog or something like that.  IME, dogs were worse than kids - the ate the sprinkler system outside, dug lots of holes in the yard and chewed up the garage door and frame when a cat was inadvertently caught in the garage...  Some dogs are better than others, but it's hard for a landlord to know that.  Here's a hint though, invite the prospective landlord over to your house to fill out an application (if it's nearby), so he can see that A) you keep a clean house, and B) your dog hasn't destroyed the house/yard.  If a landlord sees that he'll be much more likely to accept an applicant that would otherwise not meet his criteria and/or make you more competitive against other applicants.  Even if the landlord doesn't want to make the trip, offering shows you're not embarrassed with your current place.

People get rejected for having kids too (or even lots of grandkids), but I believe that it's illegal to explicitly reject someone on that basis so people are usually just told that a more qualified applicant got the place.

Dogs get the blame but is usually a bad owner not a bad dog same can be said about Parents.
