Today was yet again another extremely great experience on the water south of Big Sur. Fishing was better than two weeks ago. I had a great time hooking red snappers, coppers, china cod, olives, yellow tails, blues, gophers, and even caught a 24" ling. The vermilions were on the chew, with double hook-ups and reeling up two on one line/drop. Can't wait to do it again! Maybe Garrapata next time. Just realized my camera has stopped working :smt011Frustrating, so only cell phone pics on this post. If I can get it to work I'll post some better shots later

Way to be, calbear.  The limit should be around 5 rockfish and a ling anyway...

Cell phone pics will always do - old man Ab says, Oh yeah.   :smt002

Thanks for the responses and props guys. I tend to agree with Abking on that, even with that ling I thought I should release it to allow it to grow, but being that it was my first so far this year, and a male, I decided to keep it. It was right on the line, not even an eighth over! It weighed 4 1/2 lbs. Still a pup but tasting delicious :smt003 Tender meat is the best anyways

Awesome job Calbear! Props to you for only keeping 5 fish and also the smaller ling. I try to release all the bigger lings and some of the rockfish also because these are the breeder models and put out tons of eggs to help the population.
Besides the smaller lings are better table fare anyways.
