Had a few things to do in the AM so I got up to the Lake at 11 and the water was super clear I could see the Smallies cruising around Damn there are some big ones in there. Threw everything I had for about an hour and nada they would follow but no takers. Then a school of Shad moved in and it was on they were smashing my pointer as soon as it hit the water if the fish threw the lure another would grab it before I could get it back to the boat. They were even hitting the lure when it was in another's mouth couple of times I had two fish on the same lure. when I brought them to the boat they were spitting up Shad. Too much fun. I followed the Shad around for about a hour and a half then they disappeared and the bite went cold. Didn't hook any huge ones but they were all 15-18". Sorry no pictures but my Batt. was dead. I'll be back soon.

Fabulous, what a blast!

Sounds like some pretty good sized smallies to me.

Pretty cool stuff Mike. I'd love to get Melissa on some top water stuff. That would blow her mind.

what a blast it must have been!  I have never heard 15-18 inch smallies described as small though?

Never seen Smallies feeding on Shad like that before, I now know what I'll be looking for.

No those are quality fish but there was some bigger ones cruising around.
