The Kokanee bite was hot yesterday at Hell Hole.

I hit the lake at about noon, fished til sunset.  I caught my limit of salmon by 4, so I trolled for Browns and Macks.  I had one hookup but it unbuttoned before I could get a look.

No pics, unless you want me to take a picture of the kokanee on the grill.

We'll take what we can get.  Picture of the fish on the grill is better than no pic  :smt003 Thanks for the report.

Half way through the smoking...

Like we're (me and Sonny anyway!) not gonna want a pic of a little salmon on the grill - yeah, right!   :smt005

ATF-

Thanks for the report.  Hell Hole has been on my short list of lakes I have wanted to visit. I have seen it in the distance while hiking around Tahoe.

How long of a drive is it from Auburn?

Thanks,

Jason

Jason,

It takes me about 1hr 30min - 2hrs from Auburn via Mosquito ridge rd.

Just a shot in the dark:  Are you possibly the Jason who studies pinniped auditory processing? (your e-mail address looks familiar)

Any chance someone could write up a how-to kayak fish for Kokanee?

Method, equipment needed, other, etc.?

Thanks much!

Thanks for the info.  I knew it was quite a drive.

No that's  not me.  I've studied a few things, but I needed to look up what "pinniped auditory processing" was other than the obvious.  Interesting subject.

Thanks again for the reports.  I am tenatively planning on making it up to Hell Hole in the next few months.
