Launched about noon from the harbor. Started fishing 2/3 of the way to the mile marker. Overcast day  with moderate winds and good solid drifts. An hour by the mile marker produced one underling.
Moved in to the south of the black point buoy for 3 hours. Caught six brown rockfish and a just legal ling on dead sardines.
Almost had a yard sale when one rod was in the holder  and I was rigging the other when  A dead sardine on the bottom  got totally slammed and then the line broke almost immediately on the teeth. 20# seaguar.
I talked to a pb'er in that area and he had a 12" to 14" rockfish  that got latched on to for a bit  by a ling with a mouth like a dinner plate that he thought may have been in the 25 to 30# range. Mega-lingzilla.

Nice work, Casey - you got the crossover-report pic of you and your ling posted on Al's too.

Mouth like dinner plate - yes, we like those.   :smt001

Nice catch Casey.  I had hoped to join you Friday but it was impossible.  We were at the Crows Nest Tuesday night with friends, when I saw you come in from fishing and stop to fish your Harbor Hole for Halibut.  My thoughts were "Boy, this guy really hits it hard during the season".  You are lucky to have such a resource at your hands.  See you on the water soon.
