I was thinking about Don Pedro this Saturday but haven't nailed down any details.  Will talk to my buddy and will know by Thursday or Friday.

i was also considering melones because that's where the bigger kokes have been lately.  smallies are still hit and miss from what i hear at pardee.  but hopefully they are there and awake for us.

if you're in michael let me know - i would like to test out your adventure/outback if you dont mind.

Isn't all of fishing a hit and miss? Pardee will be an exploratory weekend to see whats up. I have never been there so for me to form an opinion about the lake is ridiculous. I do know this , John went there two weeks ago and said it has great possibilities. Also the state record smallmouth came from that lake. 9.84 pounds I believe. Thats enough for me to warrant an investigation into the possibilities of a large, large smallie.

yep, they definitely have some large smallies.  although i think overall trinity is a more consistent lake for smallmouth.  pardee has strangely become more of a lm lake the last year or two although the chance to catch an absolute monster smallie is there.  especially with all the trout planting they do.

Sounds good Ben!  I'm going to try and get there around 5:30-6:00, will have radio on 69.  Craigs driving over from Petaluma in the morning.

Will fish mostly bass, maybe a little trout trolling to do some paddling.  I'm planning to stay out all day unless the wind kicks up too bad.

Open at 5 AM.  Yes on the boat inspections.  Saw a recent report that the early topwater bite was good.
