Hooked up with Allen Sunday night and it's the last minutes thing that we decided to return to Paradise.  Met Allen and Patrick around 8:30am at the parking lot.  Since no live baits available, we gave frozen shiners, anchovies, and herrings a try.  On the water around 9:00am and the wind was moderate.  Around 10am I was hungry (did not eat breakfast this morning) so I was eating the muffing that Allen gave me earlier at the parking lot and all of the sudden...BENDO!  I could feel the head shake so I was thinking to myself it got to be a Hali.  It took several runs but when saw it color and size I knew it's a legal Hali.  Thanks Allen for netting the Hali and the delicious muffin.  It turned out to be a fat 28 incher and it's my first Hali this year!

Hey Sledge, the measuring device is called howg trough. I received mine
at the last AOTY get together. I got mine for free because I entered
the AOTY this year. Ask ChuckE how to go about getting one for yourself.

Good luck,

Thanks everyone. Glad you're enjoy my picture report. I always love to take pictures and share them with friends especially OTW pictures.

Nice one Sonny! How were you fishing the frozen bait? Thats some great pics. How did your cohorts do? Those sly devils wouldnt utter a word last night. How was the wind in the afternoon? You had areal full weekend of fun. So cool.

Allen told me after we're leaving Tomale that he's planning to Ab dive the next day and will let me know if the plan stick.  Later that night he changed his mind at the last minutes and decided to go back to Paradise.  I was using frozen shiner on a 3 way rig when this Hali hit and got the crab on the herring. The wind really howling  around 2pm and many sail boats were ducking the wind there.

karma baby...You give me the reel and wham-o! Nice flattie!

Thanks for the "attitude adjustment" bonker.  I used it to calm down the Hali  :smt003

Lots of meat on this baby.  My wife made Hali soup last night and it's Yuuumy!  The steaks were marinated overnight and we'll bake/broil them today.

Sonny, Congratulations on the halibut, listening to you hookup on the halibut and watching you photo it AS you were fighting the fish was as exciting as catching the fish myself. We gotta keep our game face on 100% of the time around Sonny as he always has his camera at the ready. What a GREAT weekend all around!

Nice one Sonny! How did your cohorts do? Those sly devils wouldn't utter a word last night.
