I wanted something maintenance free, heatdid not affect and would still be ok if yak got tipped and wouldn`t get beat up by rocks and sand.
I used a rubbermaid bowl cut out bottom sand the hell out of everything you want contacted. Thats the most important part.
I used Plastic weldit epoxy to bond and after cure used marine goop to seal it . I cut a small notch in lip for cable with a dab of marine goop.
Last I mounted transducer to inside of bowl marine goop the screws as u put them in.
Test run at Tomales bay worked great.

Something thats' easier much smaller and works great. Just cut a doughnut out of a piece of closed cell foam to the shape of the puck. Glue it to the hull and add about two table spoons of water before you set out, and yer good to go.

that idea is great if you have access to your transducer and can keep refilling it when getting bounced or tipped over, this won`t even evaporate
