My review for boatersworld products:

Delivery was free but very SLOW! Went I took theses out to use...Neither one worked (I bought 2) Boaters world has no ethics and won't make good on the products they sell. They just want your money. They don't give any service just excuses. I don't recommend this product! I don't recommend doing ANY business with boaters world! There are other retailer out there who have ethics and stand behind the things they sell and value their customers

Well, they are going out of business.  This could either by why they are going out of business or why they don't give a rats a$$ about their service.

FYI, when a company is in Chapter 13 bankruptcy, liquidators take over to recoup as much money as they can.  Thus, it is no longer Boater's World running the show.

BTW, what exactly was it that you bought?

Yep. They closed shop early this month. They may still have an online store to move what inventory they have left.

Ha! No wonder those radios were so cheap! I had no idea they were going out of business.

FWIW - My radio was delivered in a timely manner and I had no problems with it on its first use at Paradise this past week-end.

Ebyekewabjeget, are you talking about the Standard Horizon hx600s?
I am truly sorry. I had no problems with delivery (4 or 5 working days) or the radio, (its been dunked and still works great) and thats why I posted the deal.
I guess i just got lucky and havent had to deal with followup service. I didnt know they were going out of buisness. I hope they or Standard sorts you out pronto.

Ebyekewabjeget-  Complaining about free delivery because it took awhile?  Ok...  but what do you expect for free?

Sorry you got some bad radios, but it seems kinda funny to complain about service when you buy something over the net at closeout prices...

I mean, it would be great if we could all find a)excellent service, b)great pricing, and c)quality products, but in the real world you usually have to pick two of the above.

What's the trouble with the radios?  You didn't try them before taking them out???  I wonder if it's something simple that got overlooked...  not properly seated in the charging cradle or something like that...

Sharky, my radio arrived in fine shape, thanks for posting the deal.

Well that's just ducky. My brother and I bought one yesterday too. Hadn't read Ebyekewabjeget post until this morning. Just have to wait and see. I'm sure Standard Horizon will back up a brand new product if there's a problem, :smt044 even if Boaters World won't. Don't forget to mail in your warranty card and keep your receipt.

I got 3 radios from them. They ALL work fine. I have no problem with that. I also got 2 speaker/mic. neither one of these work. I'm not sure if they sent me the right ones for my radios or not. what pissed me off is the attitude I got when I called to get some help in fixing the situation. I was kinda told sorry about your problem we can't help you.
I didn't know they were going out of business. I just didn't want anyone else to get jammed like I did. That is the reason I made the post.

Well if you get the speaker mic working, let me know.  I'm interested in getting one too.  Loved keeping the VHF in a pocket, and having the MIC accessible.
