In order to get this finalized by Friday night (or earlier) I'm looking for a little more input.

Thanks.   :smt001

Can we split the pot for the second and third?  Let's say we got 50 entries with $20 each  ---> $1000 total pot.  We split:

1st place  ---> $500
2nd place  ---> $300
3rd place  ---> $200

After all, this is MBF and we don't want just 1 guy went home "rich"  :smt003

What about total of two fish (pic or carcass). So its not just big time luck on hooking one pig? I also think we should do 1st, 2nd and 3rd. I am cool with $20 (but some ppl may not be able to afford so maybe $10. Whatever the pot 50% for 1st. 30% for 2nd. 20% for 3rd.

I'm down with the two fish gig and cutting 2nd and 3rd into the money.  We also have at least two substantial prizes - a super cushy high back seat and an awesome fish bag - both worth around a couple hundred bucks I think, so those have to factor in too.  I think that realistically we'll have about 25-30 participants, so $10/each would only produce about $300 for the winner, so maybe give the seat and fish bag as 2nd and 3rd place prizes?...

More input - let's hear your ideas.   :smt001

I recommend:
$10 One fish length (take or photo), if it is not just luck then I can't win.
Winner take all the Cash, prizes for 2nd and 3rd.

I'm there and will enter the tourney, regardless.
Thanks for organizing.

I think MBF is obviously easiest.

One thing I've often wanted to do is AOTD but in teams of 2-4 anglers. Winning team takes the wedge and then the prizes go seperately to individuals with the biggest fish (one for the biggest fish killed and one for the biggest fish released?).

Would make CPR a lot easier if we were in teams, plus it might be a good way for new folks to meet each other as well as stay safe.

I know it's easier typed than done, but you said you wanted ideas! :smt001

I think having the 2nd, and 3rd places win prizes is a great idea.  I would be happy to go with 10 or 20 dollars in the pot.  If 20, then you could split the money; if 10 then split the money and prizes.  It would be cool to have a weird fish pot, for the oddest or most unsual fish caught or CPR'd.

This is going to be fun!  Matt

10 buy-in for MBF. Single largest fish wins--either carcass or legit photo.
First Place gets the cash. Second Place gets the seat. Third Place gets the fishbag. Fourth Place gets drunk.

This looks like how it'll shape up.

But keep the input coming.   :smt001

If I get First Place I suspect I will be getting drunk and taking you all down with me.

I'm loving this so far!  But, I had another idea I was thinking of, a sort of new style tourney for extended hookups.

 Hows this sound?  Beer Ante Tournament:beer3 Everyone pitches in one of the best beers they brought and the winner gets to take a bucket of suds along with the grand prize!   :smt003

Ummm...   I guess I have :beer1 on my mind for some reason...  :smt003
