Now that I have my Cobra Escape, I'm looking for a larger yak for my dad.... well and for myself, but more so he can take it out, since he's been aching to since I was a wee little one.  I've been watching the board, and scoping out craigslist, but haven't seen much or the ones I've seen are sold.
I'm not looking to spend any more than 400 :smt009

So, with that being said, if you see one or have one, let me know!   :smt002

HI KC:

I saw this from a early post and wanted to give you the headsup!
It's still up on CL but, I didn't call.
It's becoming a little too late fro the Killer Deals. Eric at FW has some
P13 at a good price but, not for $400.0
                                                             Good Luck
                                                             Ernie

Ernie,

I saw that - and it's sold (shocker) :)

If you hear of anything else, let me know!  Thanks for your help! :)

Just for clarification - because I can be dense at times - you're looking for a single and not a tandem, correct?  I ask because at first I thought you wanted a tandem for you and dad to ride together.

Will keep my eyes posted.

No no, a single.  If we rode in a tandem, one of us would end up pushing the other off.  He's about 6' around 200 lbs?  (I could be off on that).  It would also be my second kayak, so a bigger one would be ideal... well, bigger than my escape  :smt001

NewChickKayaker are you happy with your new kayak, or is it a little tipsy.

I actually LOVE my new kayak.  It was tipsy at first in the pool compared to what I've paddled before, (Mauarauder), but took it out on the lake on a very rainy day.....I can easily paddle, turn around and even tip back and forth while remaining stable.  Granted I'm 5'4 115 approx, but I loaded it with everything I normally would and was just fine.

Juuuust an Update:

FOUND and PURCHASED a yak for dad/me.  Really, when I say dad, I mean for me, but to let him borrow for extended periods of time.

Purchasd a Red Tarpon 140 from Sunrise Mountain Sports.  Brand Spankin New and a killer deal... kil-ler.  Will be picking it up on Saturday and the pimping will begin :)

By the way, I blame every one on this board for not warning me how strong this madness is  :smt011

I know you said you received a killer deal but check this out just in case.  You probably got better than a 15% discount (as stated in the add) but you can get accessories for 10% off also.  Just trying to save ya' some $$.

Lucky pops.  Wish my old man enjoyed the sport. :smt009

I think it's a better deal than that.... it was on their online store, so it's not really an in-store deal.. it was the best price, discounts and even better than 2nds and used demos.

My dad has tried to get me to kayak for quite sometime but I always shook my head.  Now he's pointing at me... laughing   :smt044

Thanks for keepin the lookout :)

Dang, $599 on their ebay store, that is a good deal...

I'd be real curious to paddle a Tarpon 140.
