Short version Great day nice viz no fish speared.

Planned a scuba trip for Hali out of monterey for Saturday via boat left the yak at home upon arrival found out the boat was down and we would have to do a shore dive Monterey was a mess from the 25 mph winds of friday.  We went to carmel hoping for better vis.  We got it it was 40+ looked at a bunch of sand did not find any hali hit the reef and checked a bout 100 holes for lings but found none. Saw a few blues and kelpies nothing I wanted to shoot.  Had a great dive but that was about it.
