There were 6-8 foot swells at Chetco point saturday, with spooky fog and a little cross chop.  I launched from the harbor.  It was a little slow, but I hooked five rockfish, and got two blacks and two blues into the bag.  The fifth was the biggest black I have ever seen, but it slipped off the hook right at the boat.  Tackle store sold me a jig that looked like a bass spinnerbait.  It looked neat in the water, but all the action was on white shrimp flies, the only color I tried.  It started to clear up around 1130, but by then I was ready to come in.  Sunday looked better, but I had to get home early.

Down here it seems that June 1st is a long way off. I can't wait to get back on the big blue. Congrats on the fish, Craig

Cool, Shasta.   :smt001

My imagination will have to take the place of the helmet-cam you should've had on for that biggest black you've ever seen.   :smt002

Can't beat Harris Beach for camping and looks that yakking would be calm and productive with all the large rocks (islands) in the area .
