I'm not sure where yet, but wanna get out on Sunday.  So far have had some interest from FishMaster1, Stoggie, Ebwabberjibjab (Phil=), friend of mine Angel and some possible others.  Lets plan this hookup!  I'm more thinking of staying in the SC area, but for Andy  :smt006 I would consider traveling!  Was thinking New Brighton for some reason even though there is a $$ to park, it would be fun for cooking n chillin.

Recent outings sure haven't produced much but a beautiful day on the water and good company.  So I don't expect much more than that this Sunday, but I just wanna get out there anyway! :smt044

Al

I will be going out on Friday with a buddy to Loch Lomand, hoping to get some hold over trout, even though out of principle, I want to boycot the lake after the City Council screwed everyone. But I will go anyway.

As for Sunday...

Let me check with the wife, you made a good impression last weekend at dinner, so she will probably let me go. She would rather I go fishing than sit around the house and bother her..

I will give you a call over the weekend.

Al it's a good thing you have an angle for a friend after you raped my handle  :smt005 It's a good thing I'm so humble  :smt044. As far as where we go....IMHO we should hook up where we have a good chance of hooking some butts. We all know it will be fun to get together and talk trash about stoogie  :smt044  How about checking some fishing reports and then pick a likely spot that will give us a good chance to catch some dinner. It's just a thought from that humble guy who's name keeps getting bashed  :smt044

Well, I have been checking on reports around the SC area, but not sure where to look for Monterrey reports.

An hour ago a baby halibut was caught off Capitola Pier.  Many reports seem to say there is still a lot of bait in the area, but they are at best a few days old.

Capitola:
After a week of nothing, one flaty in the surf and one jacksmelt at the end .

From Bayside 4/4:
"We have received multiple reports of Halibut being caught from 30-70 feet of water. I spoke to one angler who has been fishing hard in front of the harbor and having good action. There has been some nice Rockfish to catch and release along with a few Halibut. There has been scores from 3-8 Halibut reported  last month. There has been a bunch of live bait in the Harbor and near the wharfs. It looks like it is time to start using our boats and go fishing."

So I guess were planning on going up to Monterrey anyways since FishMaster1 is thinking about doing some food afterward, and he has all the cooking gear  :smt044  If we are going to do some Butt Hunting( :smt005 ), I say we do MBK instead of San Carlos beach.  The parking is easier, and costs the same.  And I think we would want to head farther north this time, since we been out to the red can a few times already with no luck.

Im down to launch from MBK and head straight for the hotel. Just talked to some peps that said some were caught in 60' right in front of the hotel... I plan on fishing for butts then ending it off with some dabs. Just bought some ghost shrimp to tip my hooks....Andy

S4F HEY haven't heard much from you in a while!?!?  Where you been man!??!  :smt044  Bring Beer!  :smt007  Think i'll do same as last time, Sausages, peppers and onions.

I just ran into Phil (EBjabbewrewjdsfhsd83jdf8938) at Fishermans Warehouse.  He was thinking we should just launch at the Hotel itself.  Sounds like a decent idea, but not sure if that 'kosher' or not.  Will take a look at google earth and see the terrain to get to the water.

I have been workin' alot (very thankful for that these days).  Only fished on the yak 2-3 times last year, this wil be the 1st trip this year.  Beers are a must :smt002  I'll bring some eats as well.  Not sure if it is cool to launch at the hotel either.  What time are you planning on getting down there?

You should warn stoked4fishin about the initiation he will be going through with our crew  :smt044

Any word on being able to launch from that hotel in seaside?

Hey EBY>>>>>>>>>

IMO - Launching from the hotel is not a good idea. You may have a fairly easy launch in the morning. But, your return trip could be disastrous. When the slightest wind picks up there are multiple breakers to deal with that can be difficult for even the more experienced. Be safe and launch from the usual sites MBK/San Carlos.  I might see you all out there on Sunday.
