Stand this thing on its head and the bottom of the rod pod floor acts as a guide for a perfectly staight cut and uniform reveal.  The plunge depth will get the inner wall, but not the outer wall...just pay attention in the corners.  It does an incredible job.

I feel your pain Steve.  I'm in the same boat ... uh ... yak.

Mike, you might be on to something.  I do have summers off, the only problem is I don't know enough to guide. :smt009

And nice work Sean.  It is easy to see why you changed the direction of GWKC.

I was thinking Makita cordless saw with the small circular blades. I dont know what model # it is but the handle is about the size of a Makita flashlight. I never thought of Dremel. I have one of those air powered mini-jig saw and to tell you the truth that thing can get away from you with plastic in a second. When under full air power and the plastic starts to melt things can go south fast.

Nice work Sean! Great looking boat.

Gotta love the Dremel.  I've used mine for alot of the cutting I've done on my yaks.  Haven't seen that head, very cool looking. Thanks for sharing.

At your typical 85-100 psi  they will walk all over the place but a pneumatic tool for plastic applications try using it at a low psi ,this will eliminate the melting and walking. I have used both pneumatic saws & die grinders on plastics items on auto body parts to kayaks for years and haven't had any problems with the low psi.

I have been in the auto body business for 38 years. Small holes and cutouts on plastic parts is simple. Cutting out the long straight line for a rod-pod opening needs another tool besides the air saw. Plus the fact you dont want to touch the outside of the hull. You feel fre to use whatever you want but that doesn't work for me.

Another superior job Sean, :smt007 I like the offset ram ball that’s one of my complaints the rod handle masses up the view of the FF :smt012 will have to give that a try.

Great job!  I like!  Where did you get that pass thru for the transducer cable?  Makes the install look really clean!
