I skipped Tuesday due to the weather reports for thunderstorms, that never happened.  Oh well, I needed the rest.

Got out earlier today (7:10) to hit the morning high tide in the East Delta.  Started throwing the t-rigged worm, second cast: fish on!  Only a two pounder.  A few casts later, a nicer, chunkier five and a quarter pound bass is on board (pic 1).  Next cast, another dink pound and a halfer.  Thirty minutes later a couple more two pounders.  One ripped my worm right off, but I pegged him good on the next cast, worm still in his gullet, haha.  Limit by 8:30.

I managed to pick off another on the sweet beaver that went three pounds about 90 minutes later.  That was it for the morning.  I stopped in the marina and had some hot dogs for lunch before heading back out.  Picked up a couple more on the worm.  One of which I'm pretty sure I caught Monday.  The bass on Monday had an inch long cut that went pretty deep in his side, and looked fresh.  Today I got another fish, same size, with the same sized wound (but a bit more infected) in the same place.  Could of been a different fish, but maybe it was the same fish.  Picked up another 3 pounder and a few more two pounders in the afternoon.

As the evening slowly arrived, I threw my worm out a bit deeper, ten feet off the tules into the weeds in 8 feet of water.  As I picked up my slack, I could feel the line loading and I set the hook hard...great bendo and a super fight.  The fish stayed deep and peeled some line.  When I got it to the net, it was a fiesty 6 pound 7 ouncer (pic 2).

After releasing that fish I was on the other side of the slough, but next to some nice tules along the rip-rap.  I made another long cast towards the tules.  Again, as I brought up the line, I could feel the weight and hammered the hook home.  More strong bendo in the rod.  Then suddenly, the fish shot into the air, at least 2 feet high, head shaking with gills flared...classic bass moment!  I couldn't get the fish to deeper water, so I wasted no time in getting this one lipped.  A bigger bass: 7 pounds, 7 ounces (pic 3).  Released her gently into the water after a photo.

I lost another standard issue bass in mid-air, and picked up one more two pounder on the worm.  I was running out of time, so I threw the worm next to some tules on a shallow flat that has been productive for me in the past.  Waited a second, felt a slight tick.  Was that a fish...line moved, so I set the hook home.  Fish ran out fast and I saw a flash, looked like a regular old...oh oh oh, the fish went on a major hard run straight under my yak and stripped line off my spinning reel like nothing...the water was shallow everywhere, and think with weeds.  She ran back at me and into a clump of hydrilla.  I could feel the head shakes, but she was wrapped in salad.  I could hear my 12 pound florocarbon line pinging against the slop, so I grabbed the line and slowly lifted the mass of weeds to the surface.  No head shakes, just weight.  Empty feeling in my stomach.  I reach down the line into the water, and she goes ape!  Big Big Fish.  I try a second time, and can see her back at the surface, so I feel for her mouth and lip her as she thrashes again.  After peeling off the weeds, I can see she is a monster bass.  She weighed in at 9 pounds 12 ounces, a personal best and a McD's Quarter Pounder away from 10!  I get a few good pics (4, 5, & 6) and set her free.

This was my best day bassing from the yak ever.  15 fish, most ever; 31 pound 15 ounce bag, biggest limit ever; and my biggest bass ever.

Hopefully the fishing continues to be hot this week.

Have a good Easter weekend.

Epic day out there dude.  Congrats on the PB and a huge bag for the day, one you will probably remember for a while.  I noticed that there aren't many mangled bellies and tails yet, they are still one the move.

ps  Your midweek fish slaying adventures are killing me!

Byran WTG dude I had a feeling another awesome report was on it's way.

When I was out at Whiskey Slough Tues evening I stopped on the road and watched the guys on their bass boats consistently hookup along the straightaway leading towards mildred.

They should official change the names of those Delta bass to "LARGE MOUTH BRYANS"

Bryan-

I want to go fishing with you. You're knocking the snot out of those fish out there. Those pix got me itching seriously for some action. Hmmm... I may have to scratch that itch on Friday... Great job

Thanks for the great read this morning Bryan. Seriously, you can make
extra bucks guiding people to catch fish in the delta. You've got them
LMB dialed in good. Thanks for the report and pictures. BTW, please
don't charge me. :smt044
