Met up with Ariel and Ray about 7 am. Ran into two other NCKAers at the launch. We launch to perfect conditions at high tide. While we were drifting I heard a big splash and looked over and saw Ray in the water. I guess he got a little wobble while reaching over to put some fresh water in the bait bucket, lol. I drew a blank but Ariel and Bungle each got a fish. I had a great day being my first time out on the bay. I even got chased down by some seals! They wouldn't stop following me! I want to get back out there for  some hali!

We put a little over 7 miles on the gps. Even though I forgot to turn it on till half way down the rock wall.

Nice report guys.  We tried it yesterday and got skunked.  The wind and the swells were nasy too.  A couple more weeks and the "butts" should be plentiful at ARW.  Goona try Oyster Point next Friday.  Maybe the butts will be ready to be hooked!

Sounds like a decent first bay day. Great pics. Looks like the butts were caught up close to the wall?

It was cool running into you guys this morning.  You picked a great day for your first in the bay, Jeff!  It was perfect out there up till noon, I'd guess.
It was also good to get my friend Dave back out in his kayak, since its been about a year since his last time out.  His kayak was so dirty that he left a trail of leaves and debris in his path all day.  :smt044  He also had a good takedown that stripped some line off the reel before the fish bit through his 12lb leader (12lb?) early in the day.
My fish taped out right at 24".  It ate its last shiner well into the outgoing in about 14' of water.

Looks like the butts were caught up close to the wall?

Close, but not as close as the picture would indicate.
