WTG, Duane, esp in the wind. Today's forecast said wind, wind & more wind.
Assume you were using bait but I see a swim bait in the pic. Never mind, I saw your post saying you caught smelt for bait.

Thanks for officially starting the season Duane.  It's all about the bait when it comes to Halibut.

I netted about 15 large smelt, I used no swim baits they are just in case all my bait is gone
I wish I could post the pic of the halibut's but it is stuck in my phone

hay Ben that's is a good idea I could make a video of my net throwing
because i do it a totally different way then they show you in the instructions my way
is better then the way they do it. :smt007

my next trip will be next week on wed I have to work all weekend :smt009
so wont be going out till then.

good luck to all that can fish this weekend

Thanks Duane. Did the sock slow you down considerably? After last saturdays blow out I am thinking about one.

Thanks Duane. Did the sock slow you down considerably? After last Saturdays blow out I am thinking about one.

yes the sock will slow you down big time lets say, if the wind is blowing you at 2.2 mph the sock
will bring it down to 1.5 mph it is a must have for live bait fishing  :smt004
