Hit the lake with Jr. this evening and headed out towards the last action i saw on Mon.  Got half way across the lake and saw paddles moving on the horizon.  Pulled out the binos and was stoked to see Juan out there.  Buzzed him on the cell...good news...he was chasing topwater.  As soon as I neared Juan, Chris and Juan spotted nirvana on the horizon. The race was on...

Jellyfish starts chasing it down but he got slammed on the way.  Off to a good start.  Jr is off on a nice tow.  He lands and releases a nice fall fish...

Boils start popping all over.  I did my best to capture the moment, but never got it.  All of the fish are crowded to the north end of the lake.  The dam is still stinky...in other words all of the action was minutes from our camp.

Check out this sequence of shots...yeee haww!!!

This boil yield a triple hook up for Juan, Jelly and a little aluminum.  Jelly and Juan both C&R'd nice fish...

It went on and on into the evening...

Things really couldn't be better for the tourney...hope to see you there!

So exciting I've never been able to put down the rod and take pictures instead.  Everyone caught fish but me last night and it was KILLLLING me to get out the camera.  By the time I'd stop taking pics it was always just a little late.

FWIW they wouldn't touch swimbaits last night  :smt017 but the were on the kastmaster.  Juan even jigged on off the bottom.

Fair warning to those of you who have never fished mendo......be prepared to do some serious paddling - cause once you spot a boil, you need to paddle like hell to get to it before it dies down. Some boils will last for a while (from what I've heard from Sean)...but most of the boils I've encountered were short....and some times it would re-appear again another 50 yards away....exciting stuff but you need to PADDLE hard to keep up with the topwater action......oh...and bring binocs is you have 'em.

Note to john / jdyak = you can't bring your trolling motor mister  :smt002

I just hope the fish stay to the north and help keep it a short paddle.  We launched at the south launch and we all paddled our booties off.
