A short report. 1st day alone just putting in holes and paddling/walking the yak upstream and fishing my way down. I got one upgrade that was a long tough fight.
2nd day spent in drift boat with a buddy. In a 7 mile float we went 1 for 3.
3rd day with wdwrkr in the yaks, same 7 mile drift. He had one on that broke off and that was it for the day.
It was a very fun drift, new to me in the yak. Flows over 1k cfs. Very windy all 3 days. We went through 2 chutes full of standing waves that made us pucker. The fishing aside, we picked up confidence and experience in that kind of water with our longish boats. It was a rush.
Also saw 2 recreational yakers not wearing pfd's. Fools, I say.

Here are couple of shots of the first chute we went through photos really dont do it justice. They were a rush. Fish are far and few between. The fish I broke off was definatly an upgrade.

Futhel: we were on the south fork. The lower south fork and main are still too high in flow.

Jesus Juan thats a great shotof you plowin' downstream. Another beautiful head shot of your fish. The lighting and the lure is incredible. It looks like its saying get that thang otta my face. Congrats on your new found river experience. Just like the ocean. Right? Oh yea if you go over all your stuff is floating away and fast. I just saw the AOTY pics of your fish. Holy Cow, nice upgrade. 2nd largest trout in AOTY history

Juan

Great report thanks for the pics. The last couple shots of the really rough water is awesome. I know it's dumb but I really want to ride my 160 in that water to see what happens.
