Hojoman:There was nothing said that you can't fish during CSBA, just that you wouldn't be part of the competition. For me, it's one and the same anyway because I don't have any expectation of winning. I just like to participate with the group.

Understand I can't fish the 2009 CSBA competition because its only open to the '08 participants. Probably the same format for the 2010 CSBA.

If I did go just to fish and not partake in the comp can I still camp with the group?

Sure, you can BUT I just got some news on the Kyen Campgrounds and the Pomo Campgrounds there.

The entire campgrounds are CLOSED, due to some construction going on there. I checked with the reservation service customer service and was told there was no indication of when the grounds would be open again. Just have to check back periodically to see if you can reserve a spot. So, at the moment, to fish CSBA would be to make a day trip out of it.

Or stay in one of the local motels. They're all reasonably priced.

In Loving Memory of Mooch, Eelmaster, Shicken, and Cabeza De Martillo

I started kayak fishing to get away from most of you...

Never thought of that, Dustin, but what is considered reasonably priced? All the places I checked in Ukiah want at least $80 a night. And I don't go anywhere close to Motel 6 and Super 8...I really want to live to see another sunrise.

CSBA is May 2nd. This years event will only be open to folks who went last year.

BAM is likely canceled unless lake levels improve dramatically.

Sorry Ariel, but I believe there is no CSBA 2010, hence no fees this year...

I will help organize an event at New Hogan to replace BAM. Not the same mistique as Mendo, but its closer for most and will still be a good time.

Don't sweat it guys. The only reason they keep those tournaments closed is because they are afraid of competition they would get from us new guys  :smt044 Lets start a new tournament and close it to anyone who was in the other one that were closed to us. Give em a taste of their own back wash.

I'm looking forward to meeting and fishing with yall this year.
