Met up with Jedmo and Dave this morning at San Pablo.  Unlike our last trip, this one was productive.  I got 4, including one with a jaw like Jay Leno that I caught trolling a very small Rainbow Rapala along the dam.  Jedmo also got 3 or 4, including one that earned him the 5 Lb. + "whopper" hat from EBMUD.  All of the fish were good size.  I would guess somewhere between 1 1/2 to 3 Lbs.  I didn't take any pictures but Jedmo will follow up with more details and pictures.  A great day on the water!

Finally, this monkey is off my back. Not just any monkey, a 5 pounder monkey. We
started our morning trolling for about 3 good hours. Martin was the first one to
land a very nice trout. When he showed it to me, it looked like a brown trout but
not really sure. I proceeded to troll up and down the edge of the lake for nothing.
I even varied my speed and changed my lures numerous times but still nothing.
My legs finally gave and so I anchored for a while to rest. Soon after came Martin
and anchored as well. Shortly after, he scored again with a decent size trout. I
started to think that I was going home once more empty handed until my drag
started screaming. I was in dazed thinking is this for real. The first thing that came
to my mind was, get the camera and take pictures which I did. Then I hear Martin
in the background saying you better land the fish quickly. That is when it finally
sinked in that I had a fish on. The fish was very strong. It must have jumped at
least five times and ran away with my line numerous times. My first trout on the
yak this year. About 15 minutes later, both poles decides to go bendo at the same
time. I managed to land both one after another. One fish was around 19" and the other was a little smaller. I wasn't going to keep the smallest one but, the fish
was bleeding bad so I kept it. All 3 fish was caught on green power bait\night
crawler combo on slider sinker 1\4oz 6lb test Fenwick HMX 5'6' 1-6lb line wt.
Thanks again for the invite and of course the best homemade beer I ever had.
Thanks also to Dave for the kayak fuel and the garlic flavored chips. Oh, and for
taking my picture with the fish.
