Fantastic conditions on the South Fork today.  I hung with my good Bro Matt as we did the stretch from Williams Grove down to the Forks at Dyerville.  I had a Blue Fox on an ultralight rod and a big, bright colored plug on the salmon rod.  I mostly tried to back-troll the plug down through little flat areas of walking speed water as the vis and water volume didn't seem to lend to getting a spinner in their face today.  The water was an awesome emerald green.  There was quite a bit of driftboat traffic as well as several bankers around.  Many people reported having hooked up and we saw a banker break off a nice fish (26-28") right in front of us near the take out.  About a mile upstream of there I managed to hookup and land a fiesty 21"er, but the AOTY photo didn't quite turn out.  I had laid this wild beauty on my hog trough and chose not to hold it down not wanting to molest it any more than I'd had to getting the hook out.  As I clicked the pic the little bastard did a body flop and was gone!  It's all good.   :smt001

The pic doesn't do it justice (obviously!) for how bright it was.  That thing was like a white and silver light saber.  I caught a few jumps on video.   :smt001

Way to go Eric! If you hadn't explained the first photo, one would think you were being attacked by the fish. It looks like it's trying to take a bite out of you. I think you win the best "action shot" of the year award.
