Well I gave it an all day try. Came out at dark, and got one small sturgie and one smaller striper... first sturgie for me in about a decade. This is the first year I've tried for em in a decade. Who's bright idea was it to include em in the AOTY anyways???  :smt005 Wind was blowing all day, but I was able to hang tight to the banks to keep the whitecaps under control.  Saw the brute down at CC. Hopefully I can find something in between soon... :smt002

Nice picture Glenn what area and tide did you fish?   Cuttings? I'm thinking of giving it a go tomorrow

some equate it to watching thier grass grow or better yet, fishing in your bathtub, while bathing in it......at least you are warm while being wet and you chances of hooking a fish are about the same. :smt010
I agree Glyn.....who thought to add this to the AOTY list?  They are NOT preditorial or fun.
Chasing Crappie and Bluegill would be much more thrilling by the per trip/per action found.
Thanks for confirming this type of fishing SUCKS no matter where you are....unless you reeling a keeper in.
See you out there soon, i guess, maybe :smt044

Glyn, we knew you would find them if you went looking. Now you just have to fill the slot. Even though I swore off going again any time soon....let me know :smt013

It's a good excuse to drink beer or (insert your drug of choice here) and shoot the $hit with the guys. While it may be tough it just makes catching one that much more sweet. Of course I say this because I've never tried it. I'm sure it can be frustrating but that's why they call it fishing and not catching. If it were easy then everybody would be doing it.

There is no glory in catching a crappie. Why do you think thats their name? When you see a fish like Sonny hooked on Sunday, thats what makes it all worthwhile. Don't cry, fish for cryin' out loud. :smt010

Thx!!  er...  huh?   :smt048

That's a cute little guy, jonesz - too bad they don't allow points for the short ones.  How did that fish (6-8 pounds?) fight?
